We will be discussing next years schedule and holding our annual elections for Board Members on October 30th.
If you are interested in being on the Board and have any questions, please contact Jared Wilson or Rebecca Wilson. Board Members dedicate a great deal of time by attending and helping out at local race events and continually looking for ways to improve the track and promote the sport of BMX. As a small non-profit, we are 100% volunteered based, if you are interested in volunteering we would love the support.
You do not need to be on the Board to volunteer. We have several parents who give up their free time to help out that are not Board members and we could not do it without them. Thank you to everyone who helped out this past year! The Board meets once a month year round and our race season is typically May through October. Board positions are listed below.
Track Operator: Overall responsible for entire operation of the track.
Effective October 1, 2013, must be approved as a Track Operator by
USA BMX. Responsible for track maintenance and head official
during sanctioned races.
Operator: Assists and fills in when Track Director is not available.
President: Responsible for business side of operating the track.
Vice President: Assists and fills in when the President is not available.
Treasurer: Maintains bank account, responsible for paying track bills.
Clerk: Responsible for race registration.
Assistant Clerk: Assists and fills in when the Clerk is not available.
Secretary: Responsible for maintaining all meeting minutes.
Trustees: Responsible for reviewing the books.
Our 2013 season concluded yesterday with a great year-end party! Photos from the party can be viewed at Bmx Photos. Thank you to all of our riders/parents/volunteers who helped throughout the season. We would like to say a special thanks to Jen Binns, Anggie Shank, Gary Shank Jr., and Sue Hill-Scheibner for organizing the year-end party. All of the kids had a great time! We would like to wish all of the Michigan riders whose season has not ended and will be heading to Grands GOOD LUCK! See you in spring!
2014 USA BMX NATIONAL SCHEDULE
USA BMX is pleased to announce all 29 stops in the 2014 National Schedule. While we will be returning to many of the towns that we have worked with in the past, USA BMX is also thrilled to add some first-time locations and return to previous facilities. Among the big changes, USA BMX has listened to the membership and added national events in the states of Washington, Michigan and Colorado. Other towns and states – such as Reno and Louisville, California and Pennsylvania, will be getting two events this year.
Among the new stops on this years’ schedule – one of the most anticipated will be the Seaside Nationals – in Ventura, California. Located right on the Pacific coast and a stones-throw away from a water park, the Ventura event will be a welcome change of venue.
The PRO schedule for 2014 has also seen some positive changes. National in Georgia and New Mexico will host Pro races – and best of all, the Redline Cup Finals East will play host to the Pros in October.
In all, there will be 13 pro weekends – with 5 of those providing UCi points.
