THERE ARE TWO SIMPLE CHECKLISTS TO FOLLOW
Your Bike:
- Bicycles for competition in the 20″ classes can have no larger than a 20″ wheel diameter. 12″, 16″ & 18″ bicycles are acceptable.
- Bicycles for competition in the Cruiser Class can have no smaller than a 24″ wheel.
- All bicycles must have an operating braking system—hand and/or coaster (foot) brake.
- Make sure all bolts are tight – especially your axle and stem bolts.
- Remove any freestyle type axle pegs.
- All reflectors/brackets must be removed for safety purposes.
- If your bike has a kickstand, it must be taken off.
- You will eventually need a numberplate. You will be provided a temporary numberplate with your membership purchase.
Clothing and safety equipment:
- Long sleeve shirt. Short sleeved shirts and sufficient elbow protection is allowable.
- Long pants or jeans. Loose fitting short pants are permitted if used in combination with a one-piece knee and shin guard.
- A helmet with a permanent strap attached. The USA BMX recommends a full-face helmet. Some “loaner helmets” are available for beginners to use.
- Any enclosed shoe is sufficient. Skateboard style shoes are suggested.
